Rhythms in creation and body

God built natural rhythms into creation—and each season is a gift, inviting us to pause and check in. The energy of Fall offers us a chance to notice where we are in body, mind, heart, health, and relationships.
We are made from the earth and breathe God’s own breath (Gen 2:7). We are Sacred Dust. This same earth, with its changing seasons, can teach us how to live with more ease.
Fall, in particular, is about letting go. Trees release their leaves, the days are cooler, and the nights stretch longer. Nature is showing us what it looks like to release and shift pace.
And yet—life rarely slows down. The emails still come, kids have their practices, work keeps pulling, and our calendars stay full. Society teaches us to do more. As Pastor Adele Calhoun writes in The Spiritual Disciplines Handbook:
"Sadly, everything about us works against slowing down. Our compulsion to produce and not waste time invades the space God gave us for rest."
That’s why we need practice—and community—to remind us.
Our time together is about finding harmony with the natural rhythms God designed—realigning body, heart, and mind with what’s happening within us and around us.
If you have any inkling of desire to feel better in your body, mind, heart, relationships and life--stay curious. Learn about that part. I've heard it said that curiosity is the soft soil of compassion.
